home.services.myplan case study |

MyPlan is a ground-breaking RIA implemented by Reignite. MyPlan is a state-of-the-art online wealth management application that sets new standards for any web site within the finance industry.
MyPlan allows financial institutions to provide to their clients an innovative online application to store and manage all of their financial information. This includes household budgets, bank statements, share portfolios and more.
The Challenge
The initial MyPlan application was implemented using traditional Internet technologies including HTML, JavaScript, JSP Pages, Servlets and Struts. The interface was a vast number of pages used to capture a users financial information. It was slow, laborious and sometimes confusing, but it was no different from any other web site where users entered a lot of information.
Solution
Converting the application from HTML into an RIA provided the perfect solution for MyPlan. Adobe Flex was chosen to create a compelling user experience with engaging functionality to easily facilitate the entering of complex financial information. Advanced loading of data removed the frustration of 'click and wait' page displays and the single application upload removed the complex hierarchy of pages.
With the RIA, users are able to view and update their financial data using spread sheets, wizards and forms just as they would via a desktop application. A dashboard with critical financial metrics such as net worth and cash reserves displays real-time changes to user data. The application was delivered with minimal changes to the existing service oriented architecture.
Outcomes
The conversion of MyPlan into an RIA created an engaging user experience. The enhanced usability and interactivity of the interface and responsiveness of the application allowed users to efficiently update and track their financial activities via the convenience of the web. As an RIA, MyPlan set a new benchmark for financial service web sites within Australia.
